Employed with Smith's Bakery, Inc., from 1975 to 1990 as Executive Vice President when it sold to Cooper-Smith in 1990. Employed as President and Chief Operating Officer of Cooper-Smith, 1990-1998, as well as President and CEO of Smith's Bakery, Inc. Cooper-Smith was the holding company that acquired Smith's Bakery and other regional bakeries during the 1990's. Employed with the Earthgrain Company as Chairman of the Transition Team, after it acquired Cooper-Smith, from 1998-1999. Engaged in appraisal business with Courtney & Morris Appraisals, Inc., since September of 2001.

Real Estate Education and Experience
Received Real Estate salesman's license in August of 1999. Passed the State of Alabama Licensed Real Property Appraisers Examination, February 4, 2002 . John's primary focus is commercial and investment properties including raw land. He also does litigation related work.
